Our neighbors granddaughter was sporting a similar hair style, and so is
FOSTERMAMA's daughter..so I decided to give it a try. Olivia's favorite book right now is
I Love My Hair by Natasha Anastasia Tarpley
In this book the little girl talks about all the ways she can have her hair styled even mentioning how it can hurt and she sometimes cries. Olivia relates well to the book and yesterday she came to me and said: Mommy today I would like to wear my hair in its afro style. Made me smile. For at least this past year she has expressed great dissatisfaction with her curly hair. Shes begged me over and over to make her hair long

and straight. Yesterday was a rare treat as its not often that she will leave the house with even a pony tail, she almost always wants two braids. Well like I mentioned above our neighbors granddaughter D had all of her hair braided and Olivia admired it. She has spent the past couple of days processing it and tonight after dinner decided that she wanted me to braid it. I'm a beginner for sure, but I gave it a good shot! I think it looks cute! Not holding my breath that it will last for the 2-3weeks that neighbors granddaughters typically lasts(she has the same hair texture, but a mommy with tons more experience) We'll see....
