Because they ordered our new table and chairs and had them delivered to my local store sans outrageous freight shipping costs! Yaaahoooooo. I went with the table that was said to seat 8(always thinking ahead) and while I am happy with the table, chairs and the prompt delivery the website clearly uses false advertising. Like you all don't have anything better to do(but lets just pretend for a second that you don't, mmk?) Look here the picture shows this table with 8 chairs and when you scroll down and look at the menu you will see that the 30"/60" table is clearly labeled as (shown) but ahem sorry folks noway will three chairs fit along each side like that(hrmph) I'm tempted to email them, but really what for? Its not like Id send it back Ive been coveting it for much too long. I'm happy with it, and so are the kids!
ETA:
So yes it IS possible to put 3 chairs but not atall like the example (shown) on the site. Oh well, lol.

That picture has to be the 30" x 78" table set up with the number of chairs they say will fit around 30" x 60".
I guess. 60 inches is five feet! It seems like you ought to be able to fit three vertical preschoolers in five feet, doesn't it? Heck, don't they squeeze three grownup airline passengers in less space?

my 1st dorm room was smaller than that! you can fit more kids than that around a table.....
