Tomorrow's the big day!

I'd always planned to home school and now I have 3children enrolled in public school. It feels right, so I wont say I feel bad about it anymore. At one point I did. The girls are so very excited. They were able to meet their teachers and see the class rooms last week. I think this is going to be something very positive for all of us. I am also going back to school on Sept 2. Just one class a few nights per week. It will be good for me too! I just finished up the last of the school shopping. The girls have picked out what they want to wear tomorrow and have their lunch boxes packed already. I am not a morning person so I'm a bit in denial still that I will have to start waking up so early. I picked up a can of cafe Vienna for myself so hopefully that will help me get going. Check back tomorrow for the obligatory first day of school pictures!

WOOOHOOO!!!! I'm glad you're at peace with your decision. Your girls will THRIVE, they are such social butterflies. Can't wait to see pics!

I'll answer your question a bit here-
#1 Hand me downs!
They come from friends- I take most everything offered, as no one is offended if I only use an outfit or two from each bag. Abe, our youngest is wearing clothes from Leo, our oldest.
Our garage is overflowing with clothes (that all need to be sorted- Yikes!) Grace, our oldest girl is really the only one who gets a bunch of new stuff each school year (and season). Leo, our oldest, is little and grows at a snails pace so far. We buy him new clothes when he needs them, but I swear that boy is still wearing a few shirts from first grade- he's in 7th!

#2.When each of the kids enters kindergarten we buy them a monogrammed backpack from Lands End. They really aren't that much more money and last! Leo's just had to be replaced in the middle of last year (6 1/2 years!!). We seem to go through lunch boxes each year and generally purchase from Costco at around 10 a piece.
#3. School supplies is a little trickier and while I don't agree with Walmart politics, I can no longer afford not to shop there- very fabulous back to school prices on paper, pencils etc.
#4. Credit...it's the American way, right?
