We got the house...BUT

we had to withdraw our offer BECAUSE our house fell out of escrow. Man this sucks. The buyers are scrambling trying to fix this, and we want them to...and will help in anyway we can to secure this transaction. But its not looking too promising. This all happen Friday so not much could be done. They will be busy Monday trying to make it happen. If it doesn't we will need to decide what we want to do. A) put our house back on the market. B) lease it out and go lease a place. I'll admit a big part of me is leaning towards wanting to just go lease a place. We can lease a place for a thousand dollars less per month than our mortgage would be if we bought. That is awfully appealing to me. Because lets face it, I don't live a simple life. Buying in that area meant I was going to have to give up a lot of my spending habits and frankly I don't really want to. If we put our house for rent we still "own" a home. We still reap the tax benefits and our mortgage is still being paid. We can rent for about the same as our current mortgage payment and we can live where we want. Having some extra cushion every month means if our tenants didn't pay rent we could technically still pay our mortgage too--it would suck and Id be broke, but we COULD do it. I don't know what to do. I just want to move. I'll update when I know anything.

I finally caught up on all your housing woes! We, too, are trying to sell our house - in fact, we had our first Open House today. My stomach is in constant knots over it.

GOOD LUCK!

Aww, what a bummer. At least it sounds like there are good back up options. Good luck!!!
