Termination of Parental Rights
Granted! Today was Emily's bio parents TPR trial, it last about 3 minutes. The judge was glad to see us there, especially glad to see Emily! He wished us all the best of luck and told me to get that paper work done asap so we can finalize the adoption, woowoo!
We also had court for Mackenzie today. They terminated services back in Aug/Sept but bio father appealed and won. They reinstated his services at our TPR trial back in Dec and he's yet to show for a visit since. Ive heard he has a warrent now and that services should be terminated next month. Then we get to wait another 4months before TPR and then onto adoptions....this system works way too slow! We are talking about a child who has been in care all 16months of her life and had ONE bio parent visit, ONE in 16months and TPR still hasnt occured. ::grrrrr::
OhOH! I ran into A's bio mom at court. I hugged her so hard for so long, maybe too long but I couldnt let go. It was like holding her was somehow holding him. She hasnt been given a visit(she has no services)but invited me to go with her to her next visit when ever it is(once per month and he left in march so she should get one sometime this month) I wont go, because its easier not to go then to be told I shouldnt/couldnt be there(and I know that is what I will be told) It was great to see her. I miss my little man so bad!

sounds like a good day. i agree with you that things go so slow (i'm having problems with society as a whole myself). i don't know how life actually gets to move on some days.
Woohoo!!!!
Awwww. Glad court was good. I am totally with you on the A. visit thing. I don't think I will be able to visit Baby Bear anymore because I feel like an intruder.
Congratulations to Emily & Mackenzie for getting one step closer to permanance! They deserve it!
And lucky you guys, too. :)
Yes, it may be slow, but at least your county actually TPRs relatively on-time.
I hope the finalizations come soon!
