Home and an update on Rae

Ok well first I want to let everyone know how sorry I am we didn't let anyone know what was going on, to be frank the internet has dropped pretty low on the list of priorities around here lately...Not saying friendships have we just haven't had a chance to get on here and update. Things have not been going well since Rae's surgery. She spent 5 or 6 days in the hospital, got out returned the next day by ambulance...Returned home and was sick enough to be back in or atleast call every other day. Over and over she was told she must have some sort of "flu" or that feeling this way was "normal" post op. At 6weeks post op she was cleared for travel and while 'believing' she was just fine, supposed to be feeling shitty and or had some sort of 'flu' she decided that maybe a trip "home" to Kansas to visit with all of her family(parents grandparents cousins friends etc) was just what she needed. Being her 'wound carer' I went along. The flight there was awful, we knew after take off we had just made a big mistake. We spent that afternoon with her cousin's family and she just felt worse and worse as the night went on. At 430am I took her to the local ER they admitted her with a DX of acute pancreatitis. Once she got a bed(that night) she was seen by a new Dr who said he didn't feel she had Pancreatitis but a bad case of IBS *insert eye roll here* she had increased liver function, dangerously low levels of potassium and her lipase was elevated. She spent 6days in the hospital before her lipase levels returned to normal and she was discharged...Still feeling just as sick if not sicker than when she was admitted. We spent the night with her grandparents and the next morning drove about 90minutes away to the town she grew up in. She was sick the entire drive there...We spent the night and by sunrise I was on the phone with the airline getting our flight moved up to the next day(today). I packed us up and drove us to Kansas city got us checked into a hotel, returned the rental car and prayed a LOT that Rae would be stable enough that I could get her on the plane and not have to call 911 and have her admitted there. We did make it to LAX after a hellish flight. Donna was waiting for us, dropped me and the kids off and took Rae straight to our local hospital. She has been admitted and Donna just called to let me know she is having some level of kidney failure. I have no idea what's going on I will update as I learn more.

Rae, please know you are in our hearts and thoughts...I'm hoping all will go well for you...I cannot believe the doc said IBS--it's called labs...at least you finally had the right diagnosis...
I'm scared for you, but having faith it will all work out....
Hang in there...we love you.....
