It's sad to me
that 7 out of 10 black Obama supporters voted yes on 8 as did more than 2/3rds of other minorities. Whites were at least 50/50. Gosh you'd think those who could most appreciate discrimination would be the least likely to write discrimination into our states constitution. Admittedly, I expected this outcome.
As for Obama I'm thrilled! I tried to wake Olivia last night to watch his acceptance speech but she was having nothing to do with that! Thanks to Tivo I watched it with her this morning. So proud!
There's some intense, but I think productive discussion about this here: http://www.pamshouseblend.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=8013 Somehow this is sadder than all the other previous amendments- I think people are coming to expect better of the electorate.

I was watching nervously. I was so sad when it passed. It's just not fair.
