We knew our worlds would change when we brought our fourth daughter home for good. I don't think it honestly occurred to us how much the experience would change even our other children. I think my girls have always been compassionate, but this level of compassion moves me. It started this morning, I was laying awake(with my eyes closed) and I could hear Marissa cough. within seconds Mackenzie had awoken and bolted out of bed and into my room--Mommy Mommy Marissa gonna throw up!!!! *Unfortunately this is a very normal way for us all to wake up. Before I could get my glasses on and out of bed Mackenzie bolted back out of the room. I hung back because I could tell now that the coughs were just coughs and that she wasn't in fact about to vomit. I then heard the crib rail go down(yes, somehow, my TWO year old knows how to do this when even I don't.) So I walked slowly to their room stopping by the office first to grab my camera(anticipating what I already knew I would find) and Sure enough. Mackenzie is holding Marissa's puke bowl under her chin saying: Its OK baby, Its OK baby. *sigh* I have some serious love for my girls.
